Our Services

Metro Area Ambulance Service is involved in a wide range of pre-hospital and post-hospital emergency medical services, providing dependable, high-quality care to the communities we serve. Our team operates 9 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, each staffed with highly trained Paramedics and EMTs who are prepared to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice.

Our primary emergency response area includes Bismarck, Mandan, and most of Morton and Burleigh County, covering approximately 110,000 residents. In addition to 9-1-1 response, we provide emergent and non-emergent ALS intercepts to support many outlying ambulance services across our region and beyond.

Metro Area Ambulance Service also delivers dedicated and non-dedicated ALS standby coverage for a wide variety of community events — from rodeos and fairs to athletic competitions and road races. When specialized medical support is required, our teams ensure expert care is ready and available on-site.

For patients needing transport outside the region, we offer long-distance ground transfers to destinations such as Minneapolis, Rochester, or any facility where advanced care is required. Our crews are equipped to provide outstanding ALS-level care throughout the entire transport.

Metro Area Ambulance is also home to the Southwest Regional Response equipment, including an Ambus, a mobile command post, and multiple trailers equipped with mass casualty response resources. This specialized equipment allows us to support incidents involving anywhere from a few patients to large-scale mass casualty events, ensuring our region has the capability to respond effectively when it matters most.
